  • Customization of execution logs for automated tests

  • Access to the content of an attached .tar file from the GUI

  • Authentication to Redmine via token

  • Configuration of additional columns in execution plan items search results

  • Resolution of CPU compatibility issues in Squash Orchestrator

The full list of new features and bug fixes is available on Squash TM 6.1 and Squash Orchestrator 2024-03 release notes.

New customizable HTML reports of automated test executions

The 2024-03 delivery of Squash Orchestrator brings a new HTML report of automated test executions for an entire workflow.

This report displays the workflow summary, the job summaries and the test execution list with filters features to facilitate the analysis of automated test results.

Its content and style are fully customizable.

The OpenTestFactory documentation includes a detailed description of how to configure these reports.

Allure reports, for which we do not fully control the information they contain, are deprecated. Removing Allure will also eliminate the need to embed a JVM, further reducing the memory usage of the Orchestrator and the size of its Docker image.

In Q4 of this year, we will not generate anymore Allure reports by default, but a configuration switch will allow to still create them if desired.

Next year, Q2 or Q3 2025, we will fully remove the support of Allure reports.

Customization of execution logs for automated tests

Squash Orchestrator 2024-03 also adds the ability to create custom execution logs. A condition, such as generating a report only if the workflow is in failure, and the detail level (jobs and step depths) can be configured.

The OpenTestFactory documentation includes a detailed description of how to configure these logs.

Access to the content of an attached .tar file

With Squash TM 6.1, .tar files content can be visualized directly from the GUI. This way, automated test reports can be viewed without needing to download and unzip the file first.

Authentication to Redmine via token

It is now possible to authenticate to Redmine from Squash via a token to report issues or synchronize tickets as requirements. Authentication via login/password is still available.

Configuration of additional columns in execution plan items search results

Requires Squash TM Premium plugin, included with Squash Premium offer.

Squash TM 6.1 allows to configure additional columns in execution plan items search results, to tailor the team needs.

Resolution of CPU compatibility issues in Squash Orchestrator

Some users had trouble with the way the Squash Orchestratorֹ's Docker image was built since the 2023-12 delivery: their Docker environment did not support the required CPU features. Even though these CPU features have existed for ten years and should be available once the environment is properly set up, the new Docker image is now built in a way that does not require them anymore. This will simplify the usage of the image, while having a minor negative impact on the performance.
